The Wall Street Journal reports that the European Union is considering imposing sanctions on several people connected with Islamist forces and who are alleged to opposed the Libyan peace process.
High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini (pictured), the EU's head of foreign policy, confirmed on Monday that the EU is looking into taking action against some individuals, but didn't indicate when the EU would decide on the possible sanction.
EU diplomats have mentioned three potential targets -- Saleh Badi, Abderrahman Swehli and Abderrauf al-Manai -- who are linked to the Islamist forces ruling the Tripoli area, according to WSJ.
Sanctions could include asset freezes and travel bans.
