Tunisia is to set up a consular office at the Ras Jedir border crossing with Libya, according to a report from Libya Herald.
This follows Tunisia's decision to close its consulate-general in Tripoli following the abduction of ten of its staff earlier this month.
The Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Taieb Baccouche (pictured), said “there are Tunisians who continue to live in Libya because of strong family ties there,” adding that the representation would be looking after their interests.
There are an estimated 150,000 Tunisians living in Libya.
