The Libyan government said on Monday it would launch a new state news agency to replace the one seized by armed factions loyal to the old General National Congress.
Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thinni's [Al-Thani, al-Thanay] (pictured) administration will call the new state agency Lana, the same name as the previous news agency.
The new agency's head, Mahmoud al-Ferjani, told Reuters:
"Lana will launch a new temporary website to publish local and government news because Lana's original headquarters are controlled by militias."
