Libya has taken delivery of 49 armoured support vehicles from Jordan. Some 120 of the UAE-designed and built NIMRs, in two variants, have already been in service with the Libyan army, reports Libya Herald.
A spokesman of the Libyan army, Ali Shiekhi [Al-Cheikhi] was quoted by Chinese news agency Xinhua today as saying that the new NIMRs had been supplied as a result of an agreement made last year between the Ministry of Defence and Jordan.
Meanwhile, Afriquejet said that 25 Panther II armoured vehicles and military transport cars will be positioned in east Libya to allow for quick response to any form of aggression or violence.
