The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Saddek Elkaber [Saddek Omar Elkaber] (pictured), has confirmed that Libya has up to $140-billion-worth of projects on hold that were approved by the former regime.
The estimate is higher than the $100 billion previously mentioned by government ministers, according to a report from Libya Herald.
Elkaber said these projects are under review, and added that there are additional new projects, valued in the billions of dollars, which would be offered for tender.
