Starwood Hotels and Resorts is set to reopen the Four Points by Sheraton Tripoli in Libya following the hotel's closure last year due to turmoil in the country.
"We opened the Four Points by Sheraton before the political unrest, we’re now looking to reopen the Four Points in Libya once the situation returns to normal - which it more or less has," Neil George, VP, acquisitions and development, MEA, Starwood told Hotelier Middle East.
Speaking at the end of April, George said the reopening would take "a few months" with re-staffing underway.
Meanwhile, construction works on the Sheraton Tripoli Hotel have restarted. The hotel was due to open in September 2012, but this has been pushed back to September 2013.
