Benghazi Port Reopens after Three Years

By John Lee.

Benghazi’s shipping port reopened on Sunday following a three-year closure.

The port is used for general cargo, and to import gas and some refined petroleum.

It closed in 2014 due to fighting between rival factions.

Benghazi’s airport reopened in July.
