New Libya-Tunisia Border Crossing Approved

Libya Herald reports that the Libyan government in Beida has approved the creation of a third border crossing with Tunisia.

The new crossing at Mashhad Salih is roughly half way between the current two crossings of Ras Jedir, on the coast, and Dehiba-Wazin [Dhiba-Wazn] in the Jebel Nafusa mountains.

The Tunisian authorities approved the crossing in principle last year.

According to some reports, the third crossing is already open, under the control of Zintani forces.

The Tunisian government should postpone the opening of the third border crossing – Mashhad Salih – until improvement of security and political situations in Libya for Tunisian own security.
