A lawyer acting for Saif al Islam has warned the International Criminal Court that a trial held in Libya would be motivated by revenge rather than justice.
ICC judges are expected to take weeks or months to announce where the hearing will be held.
Al-Islam was indicted last year on charges of murdering and persecuting protesters in the uprising which toppled his father.
